Advertising is in our DNA. We grew up on sets — learning how to plan, shoot, solve problems and deliver. ctrl. launched in 2024 to bring that production mindset into a new creative landscape. From big sets and lean crews to generative worlds, we build workflows around the image, not the other way around.
At the heart of ctrl. are Bernhard Russow and Julian Spillner. Julian combines a background in computer science with more than a decade of directing experience. Bernhard brings his background in communication design and over 16 years of experience on set as a DOP and technical director. Together, they connect the creative, technical and practical sides of filmmaking.
Filmmaking has always been a multidisciplinary industry and so is ctrl. at its core. We are proud to have a wide range of expertise in the team, which lets us come at a project from several angles at once, and settle on the one that actually best serves the film. And with new tools, today this is more true than ever.
Every production is different, and every film deserves an approach built for it. We develop a tailored workflow for each project — fully traditional, fully generative or somewhere in between — designed around the creative vision, the technical requirements and the particular needs of the production.
Before every shoot we run a dedicated meeting to align everyone on the key steps and processes together, be it for production or generation. Aligning the workflow with us and your team is keeping the production smooth, efficient and creative.
